(5 April 2021)The Nurturing Co. the award winning sustainable products company based in Singapore is partnering with Seven Clean Seas, an ocean clean-up organization that is fighting the plastic crisis, to further the positive impact that consumers make each time they purchase Bambooloo homecare products. Under this initiative titled Project Urgensea, Bambooloo has pledged to remove 1kg of plastic from the ocean for every 100 rolls sold (inclusive of toilet paper and kitchen rolls) sold. This initiative is also welcomed by Wipeless, a bidet bar brand under The Nurturing Co who will be removing 1kg of plastic for every Wipeless Bidet sold. With this Bambooloo aims to multiply their contribution towards fighting the plastic crisis.

Bambooloo, the core brand under The Nurturing Co, makes sustainable homecare and personal care products that are made out of Bamboo and contain 0% single use plastic. It is the first homecare products company in the world to have a 0% plastic retail-ready packaging called the GrabBag©, which means that consumers can carry their products out of the store without a need for a plastic bag.

Through its double pronged approach of delivering products that are free of single-use plastic and contributing to the removal of plastics in the ocean that are closely in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs), Bambooloo aims to be part of the solution to the plastic crisis.

We are extremely focused on helping to reduce the overall amount of plastics in the environment, and in particular in the South Asia region where refuse management is not always front and center. Working with SCS allows us to  reduce and remove plastics from our environment and preserve our local coastlines." shared David Ward, the CEO and founder of The Nurturing Co.

Seven Clean Seas (SCS) is an Ocean Cleanup Organization based in Singapore. Since inception in 2018, SCS has recovered over 100,000kg of plastic pollution from the marine environment alone and is focusing on infrastructure and technology solutions to stop plastic reaching the ocean.

Their mission is to preserve the marine environment by ridding the ocean of plastic for good. Our rivers and oceans are the most important ecosystem on Earth. We clean up rivers and oceans as well as invest in waste management while empowering communities, all towards making plastic circulate.

"Bambooloo are another fantastic example of a business doing things the right way and Seven Clean Seas is so excited to partner with them. Not only do Bambooloo not use plastic in their products, but they are going even further by commissioning our Ocean Cleanup Crews to remove the same weight of plastic from the ocean that they have avoided with their products. It's planet positive and truly inspirational!" shared Tom Peacock-Nazil, the founder of Seven Clean Seas.

About Seven Clean Seas:

Seven Clean Seas (SCS) is an Ocean Cleanup Organization based in Singapore. Since inception in 2018, SCS has recovered over 100,000kg of plastic pollution from the marine environment alone and is focusing on infrastructure and technology solutions to stop plastic reaching the ocean.

Their mission is to preserve the marine environment by ridding the ocean of plastic for good. Our rivers and oceans are the most important ecosystem on Earth. We clean up rivers and oceans as well as invest in waste management while empowering communities, all towards making plastic circulate.

Seven Clean Seas developed the world’s first plastic-offsetting service. In doing so, we help companies reduce their plastic footprint by taking plastic out of the ocean on their behalf. This helps companies neutralize their impact on our planet and seas whilst redirecting funding to develop the infrastructure and projects needed in areas that are most affected.

Seven Clean Seas has committed to recovering over 10,000,000 kilos of marine debris by 2025 from the top seven worst plastic polluted countries in the world. Since

2018, they’ve invested in ocean clean-up operations, remote island infrastructure and innovative technology.
